Vietnam's visa system is straightforward for many visitors, but the exact rule depends on your passport and trip length. Treat the Immigration Department portal as the final authority.

Visa rules can change. Always confirm your nationality, permitted stay and entry conditions on an official Vietnamese government website.

Vietnam e-visa

Vietnam's official e-visa can be issued for up to 90 days and may permit either one entry or multiple entries. Eligibility depends on nationality and current immigration rules.

Fees and application

Vietnam's official e-visa portal currently lists a US$25 application fee for single-entry visas and US$50 for multiple-entry visas. The application is completed online.

Visa-free travel

Some nationalities can enter Vietnam without a visa for a defined stay length. Because exemptions can change, check your own passport against current official rules rather than relying on an old travel blog.

Before you book

Confirm passport validity, permitted stay, entry point and the details printed on your e-visa before paying for non-refundable travel.
