Ten days is a strong first-trip length. This route covers all three major regions while keeping hotel changes under control, and now includes where-to-stay choices, transfer logic and the tour decisions worth making in advance.
Hanoi culture, coffee & food
Use two nights to settle into Vietnam: Old Quarter streets, Hoan Kiem Lake, major historical sights and a focused Hanoi food evening.
Ha Long Bay
Use a full day or overnight cruise. If you choose overnight, protect the following morning from an overly tight flight connection.
Fly south to Da Nang
Fly to Central Vietnam and keep arrival day intentionally light with My Khe Beach, cafés or the riverfront.
Ba Na Hills or Marble Mountains
Use the day for one major experience. Ba Na Hills is the fuller excursion; Marble Mountains leaves more room for the city, beach or Son Tra.
Hoi An at a slower pace
Two nights gives you the Ancient Town, regional food, a lantern evening and time for An Bang Beach or countryside cycling without turning Hoi An into a rushed half-day stop.
Fly to Ho Chi Minh City
Move south and keep the first evening around central District 1, Nguyen Hue and an easy food stop.
History, museum & city food
Use a full city day for the War Remnants Museum, central landmarks, coffee and southern Vietnamese food.
Cu Chi or flexible departure day
Choose Cu Chi if your flight is late enough and you want a final historical excursion; otherwise protect the last day for a relaxed departure.
